Back to City Life

The company holiday party was last night, and it was lots of fun. I felt a wee bit guilty leaving Jenn at home all alone to take care of Zachary, so after a couple of beers and some snacks I headed back to Brooklyn. Here's a view from one of the three floors the party was held on. I don't get a view of Manhattan like this very often. It's probably best if I don't write too much on the subject, except to say we all had a lovely time.

By the way, in case anybody is looking for my Gridskipper tag, where you can find all my random reviews, here it is. Please also visit the main site at

Baby Gifts

Zachary is ten days old now and doing great. He's received lots of great gifts from family and friends, and one of my favorites is this wooden sign with his name carved into removable blocks. It even has four little screw-in legs so it becomes a miniature table. It was a gift from my editors and friends at work, and Zachary and his parents really appreciate it.

Now I have a question for you. When we shorten his name, as we will, should we spell it Zach, Zack, Zac, or Zak? Any views would be appreciated.
