Solstice

Today is the first day of summer. Happy Solstice, everybody. I took this photo of the solstice sun this afternoon. I met Jenn for lunch and we took a stroll to the newly-renovated Columbus Circle pedestrian area. The weather was beautiful and we just sat on a bench and listened to the gurgling of the fountains that ring the area. The sound of the water almost drowns out, or cancels out, the sound of the traffic on all sides. Here's a photo of part of the fountain, with the southwest entrance to Central Park in the distance.

It was a lovely day today, weather-wise and otherwise. We've had a few stiflingly hot and muggy days recently so today's milder humidity was a great relief.
